VectorWorks is a computer-aided design (CAD) software program developed by an American company, Nemetschek North America. It is used for technical drawing, drafting and 3D modeling.
It has a full range of 2D, 3D and presentation capabilities appropriate for all stages of the design process, comprising of VectorWorks Fundamentals (the core VectorWorks CAD technology), VectorWorks Architect, VectorWorks Landmark, VectorWorks Machine Design, VectorWorks Spotlight, VectorWorks Designer and RenderWorks.
VectorWorks also offers functions more advanced than basic CAD tools. Users can sketch with lines, arcs, rectangles and circles and then go on to build their designs using the available extrude, walls, doors, windows, stairs, ramps and lighting tools as well as many more facilities. All aspects are easy to edit and as the different design elements are built they automatically format into both 2D and 3D views.
Advanced graphics capabilities allow users to create client presentations. VectorWorks gives users the ability to control line weights, as well as add colors, patterns, hatches, and gradient fills to designs.
As a package, VectorWorks gives the designer complete control and maximum realism over their design.
